St Jude Primary school, Jomain Midland Academy, Primer Junior Primary School and Kisa Kya Mukama are the four schools that will benefit from the fifth edition of the Uganda Marathon that will take place on Saturday, 1st June 2019 at the Masaka Liberation grounds.
According to the marathon marketing manager Andrew Muzoora, at least 800 million Uganda shillings is expected from both the local and international marathon participants of which this will be used to build fresh water wells, girls’ dormitory, starting up a poultry house among other activities in the mentioned schools.
“We have four schools which we will support in different kinds like building water wells, building dormitories among other activities; we expect to collect at least 500 million shillings from the marathon from both the local and international participants for this cause,” Muzoora said.
Africell publicist Edgar Karamagi says as the official partners of this marathon, all they hope for is to bring change in lives of children to access better education.
“As Africell, we know education is key and we want to make an impact on the students going to schools in Masaka, Educating these kids need joint efforts from all of us solets all work together to change their lives. We have contributed many things including kits.” Edgar Karamaji said.
Prince David Wasajja will be the chief runner of the marathon, flagged by artists like Spice Diana, Kent and Floss, John Blaq among others.
