Tropical Bank embarked on a Massive drive on Thursday and Friday this week, as they visited Mosques across the country to support them during this Holy Month of Ramadhan.
Over 18 Mosques in Kampala, 12 in Mbarara, Masaka, Mbale, Kaliro, Kakira and Jinja benefited from this initiative.
According to Dr Sulaiman Lugya, the Head of Islamic Banking at Tropical Bank,the initiative was the Bank’s simple way of giving back to the Muslim Community by focusing on the needy Mosques across the Country.
The Managing Director, Mr. Dennis Kakeeto, added that as part of Tropical Bank’s Strategic CSR Partnership 2019, the Bank will continue to focus on key Strategic initiatives which address the needs of the Muslim Community that form 68% of its customer base.
“Our Commitment remains firm and solid. We shall continue to listen and develop life changing Products like TropiHijja, that specifically transform the lives of the common Muslim in Uganda,” said Kakeeto.
Tropi Hijja is a Conventional Product, regulated by Islamic Principles that aims to enable Muslims save between 6 Months to 10 years towards fulfilling the 5th Pillar of Islam ‘Hijja’ or ‘Umra.’
One Hajji Tumwesigye Nasul of Maasjid Saad at Kisenyi Bus Terminal welcomed Tropical Bank’s timely initiative and encouraged the bank to continue supporting them.
Some of the selected Mosques included; Kamwokya Mosque, Masjid Tawhid Kawempe, Masjid Salaam Ntinda,Masjid Jamia Katwe and Masjid Jamia in Mutungo among others.
