Busongora North Legislator Hon. William Nzoghu has tabled a motion for Parliament to draft a law that limits the number of children each family is supposed to have.

Nzoghu said that the decision for government to limit the number of children per family will reduce the increasing pressure on the available resources arguing that families that have few children have the ability to provide for their children unlike those with huge numbers of children.

Nzoghu tabled the motion in response to a statement presented by Bahati the state minister for finance and planning who in his speech said that Uganda had registered an increase in the longevity of its population where Life expectancy in Uganda increased from 43 years in 1991 to 63 years in 2016.
