Radio talk show host of Aulogo media Sservices 96.5fm in Adjumani, Amacha Goli has been sacked for trying to host opposition politician Kizza Besigye.
Goli was supposed to host Besigye and the FDC Party President Patrick Amuriat on 5th July for a radio programme before the programme was suspended by the Office of President citing “security” reasons.
According to the Adjumani RDC’s letter dated July 5, 2019, he directed the Manager Aulogo media services to suspend the how claiming he had received intelligence saying some people were organizing to disrupt the programme which meant Amuriat wasn’t safe.
In a letter dated July 6, the Chairman Board of Directors Anyama Williams asked Goli for a detailed explanation surrounding the radio talk show that was meant to host Besigye and Amuriat adding that he needed to be out of office for investigations to continue.
At Aulogo radio, FDC officials were teargased and driven away by police when they went to seek clarification over the cancelled show, days later Goli has been told to officially handover to the programme manager with immediate effect.
Besigye who described the move as “reprehensible” has on several occasions been blocked from appearing on radio talk shows and on others been thrown out of radio premises.
