FaceApp, a Russia-based app that applies filters to photos, is having another moment in the spotlight this week. The app first went viral in 2017, but this time it’s catching on because of a filter that makes users look older or younger.
We all know how sensitive our 1986 war General is to age now that his clock has reached the evening of his years. We know that his media team does a great job to put out stunning pictures of him looking young and energetic.
We cannot say with certainty whether Museveni and his team use FaceApp to make him look younger. Inspired by this curiosity however, we decided to look at some of Museveni’s most famous pictures through the FaceApp.
Wait a moment… Do I see an Indian Museveni? You have probably seen that face on Kampala road behind a desk hurling orders at workers to serve clients. Have you not? Take a closer look at this one now;
Now it is time for the State of the Nation address. Let us give way for Mzee Yoweri (CLAP CLAP)
There you have it. Museveni Yunar Patel. That is probably the new heir to the Mukwano Group. Our Mzee definitely nails the Indian look.
The above portrait of Mzee is what he famously uses of late. See how freshly old he looks! That is how he will probably appear when he is retired by Bobi Wine in 2021 after losing the election.
Whether you have tried the FaceApp or not, one thing is for sure, it always catches up with us. For Mzee Museveni, he is now living the reality of the ageing bit of it and constantly needs young designers to apply the “Young” filter to make him look good.
