Nsereko began by talking about yet another trending subject “The Coffee Bill” and began his popularity stunt promising to do all it takes to “BLOCK” the Bill when it hits the floor of Parliament.
This is very characteristic of Nsereko’s political gimmicks. He usually jumps on a popular and trending subject, gets the attention of numbers and then cashes out when it is convenient. We can clearly remember Nsereko during the election of Parliamentary leaders, during the Togikwatako campaigns and so on. We all know how all these ended. Nsereko disappears in thin air.
We therefore can predict with absolute certainty that in jumping on the issue of the Coffee Bill, Muhammad Nsereko seeks to tap into a political capital that can bear him economic benefits. Afterall he is popular for his political merchandising, selling his loyalty and support to the highest bidder.
We know that Nsereko is not in any way a farmer, nor is he representing a constituency that predominantly farms. If anything, Muhammad Nsereko has no knowledge about coffee growing or production. But appearing on the show yesterday, he appeared to be making effort to appear knowledgeable on the subject.
Therefore as the true revolutionaries fight the unpopular and unfair Bill in the offing to regulate Coffee growing and production, they must be aware and attentive to the moves and efforts of political detractors like Muhammad Nsereko who have been known to hijack popular mass struggles only to end up selling out to the oppressor.
