Eid al-Adha or Eid Qurban, also called the “Festival of the Sacrifice”, is the second of two Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide each year, and considered the holier of the two. It honours the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God’s command.
Ekyooto family celebrates with the thousands of our Muslim brothers and sisters as we mark this very important holy day.
This Eid reminds us of sacrifice. We must be willing to sacrifice even that which we love most in the service of Allah the most high. We must also serve fellow man; for what better way can we show Allah love than through loving that which he created?
So, as partners in the struggle to liberate Uganda from the grip of dictatorship and bad leadership, we remember the sacrifice thus far that we have paid for this struggle. We also pray for Allah’s mercy to enable us keep keeping on as each day, we get closer to realizing our dream of a free and peaceful Uganda that works for all citizens.
