In a press release this morning, the Ministry of Health has acknowledged the overwhelming number of patients at Kawempe Hospital and has pledged that solutions are in place to address this.
They have promised to expand of neonatal special care unit and procure additional equipment for the Kawempe based branch of Mulago Hospital which has been showed in the media to be overcrowded and putting new born babies in plastic chairs and overcrowded surface boards.
The Ministry has also promised to transfer babies to Mulago Women and Neonatal Specialised Hospital which this publication confirmed is underpopulated and deserted because of the prices of services offered. The Ministry position has been well explained in this tweet;
