The ‘Luga flow’ artiste has today made it clear that he would love to do his ‘Abanyampi’ tune remix with the People Power fountain, Bobi Wine.
The song ‘Abanyampi’ traces its roots from a dramatic mockery phrase coined by renowned media personality, Joseph Tamale Mirundi. Mirundi came up with this word ‘Abanyampi’ in an attempt to make fun of officials in government departments who are implicated and castigated to account for crimes committed by their bosses.
Mirundi cited an example in the BoU cash print saga in which the fishing hook picked Mandela and Mbiire to cover up for the real Mafias who were sneaking in the cash consignment. The word first sounded obscene and was met with a public uproar till Ugandans later derived the real ‘bittersweet’ part of it.
Musician Gravity popularised the word further with a hit song which went viral in just weeks. In the message of his song, Gravity mocks people who are used by others for selfish gains.
In a quest to make his song more appealing, the singer has invited leading opposition figure and Presidential hopeful, Bobi Wine to give in a hand for the remixing of this very tune. In a Facebook post, Gravity says he is looking forward to collaborating with president Bobi Wine in the “Abanyampi” remix.
