Uganda Airlines is set to have its maiden flight on Tuesday instead of Wednesday as earlier communicated.
With tickets going for shs.166, 000, the Uganda Airlines first commercial flight is expected to transport selected people that include technical officers, government officials and the media as revealed by the Ministry of Works spokesperson Susan Kataike.
The flight’s departure from Entebbe to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is scheduled at 10:00 am.
With reasons not yet clear whether this maiden flight was made specifically for marketing purposes but it is evident that the taxpayer foots bills for this flight meaning that “we learn’t nothing and forgot nothing” napoleon quoted.
However according to the Airlines website, Uganda Airlines indicates that it has no flight scheduled for Tuesday which implies that the Public is not welcome for the Airlines maiden flight apart from the invited guests.
Announcement for change of Program was made by the Ministry of Works via a tweet and not by the Airline administration prompting a asection of the public to ask whether program for the first commercial trip had changed.
Meanwhile Wednesday was announced as the day for the long waited maiden commercial flight and the Airline is expected to take off at 6:00 am and reach JKIA at 7:15 am.
