Following yesterday’s Red week launch by the People Power movement under its principal, Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, the Uganda Police Force has counteracted the peaceful week with immense deployments across all major towns of the country.
Trigger hungry Police officers clutched onto their AK-47 guns are a decorum of all main streets of Kampala. In Makerere University which is a stronghold of the People Power movement, platoons of policemen have been deployed all over campus. Tents and temporary houses are being put up to accommodate the police troops as they closely monitor the situation.
“The police will be on all streets the whole of this week. We have received reports that the People Power supporters plan to cause anarchy in all towns and we can’t let that happen”, said one of the police officers who preferred speaking off record. “Bobi Wine is becoming a headache. We shall cool him down”, he added.
A trusted source in the police has informed our house that police plans to arrest all supporters that will put on red barrets throughout this week. They are to be charged with defying lawful orders and inciting violence in case of any arrest.
Bobi Wine flagged off the Red week yesterday at his Kamwokya based Firebase where he unveiled some of the movement’s plans for the remaining part of 2019. However, the NRM is also not slumbering as they plan to sacrifice more of their supporters in all ways possible in a bid to win sympathy support by blackmailing and tainting the People Power movement.
