MTN Nigeria on fire as Nigerians stage retaliatory attacks on South African businesses.
Reports of the violent protests are arising out of the local Nigerian press which assert that there is anarchy on Lagos streets.
The attacks follow up the deadly xenophobic raids that have manifested in South Africa since Sunday. According to the local press, musts and communication towers belonging to telecommunications giant, MTN have been set ablaze. MTN Nigeria has tweeted in a statement asking its staff and clients to withdraw temporarily as the situation returns to normal.
Analysts have blamed the swelling violence squarely on Nigerian President Muhamadou Buhari and Cyril Ramaphosa for failing to hold round table negotiations to end the violence. Nigerian business magnates have however revealed that a section of looters are simply taking advantage of the situation to get a reap for themselves.
