Looks like we shall be having more talk of “We fought…” in the next Parliament if plans of former Rujumbura Member of Parliament Hon Jim Muhwezi are to succeed. He has officially announced that he intends to reclaim his Rujumbura Parliamentary seat come 2021.
Jim Muhwezi made the announcement at Rukungiri Inn where he revealed that due to overwhelming support and encouragement he has received from Rujumbura Constituency, he cannot disappoint the voters when service delivery is going down.
“I have received delegations of voters demanding that I should contest for Rujumbura Parliamentary Seat again basing on my previous performance as MP, and I have agreed to contest in the coming election,” Gen Muhwezi said.
Gen Muhwezi explained that he is not a career politician but a freedom fighter who comes in when things are getting out of hand and makes sure that normalcy returns and people get services.
“The People in Rujumbura and Rukungiri at large know better what I did and what I’m capable of doing which is development-oriented based on the unified approach and I am coming back to continue with that development,” Muhwezi said.
General Muhwezi said that he was not happy with some politicians who have personalized government programs and projects where they are telling the voters that the programs belong to them.
“A politician who personalizes government projects is a liar and voters should shun such people,” Muhwezi said without naming them.
He thanked the NRM government that decided to procure Road Equipment machinery which they handed over to the districts to ensure that all roads in the districts are continuously maintained and more others are opened.
