The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has proposed a ban on candidates ferrying voters to polling stations during elections.
As 2021 ticks closer, FDC tabled its views on Electoral reforms before the parliament’s Legal Affairs committee on Wednesday.
Mafabi revealed that if the Proposal were put into consideration, voter Bribery would be put to an end on the voting day come 2021
FDC further called for a ban on incumbents making campaign declarations and promises based on government programs.
As the Opposition welcomes the proposal, reports coming in indicate that the NRM is already panicking since ferrying supporters from one Polling station to another has been one step for them in rigging elections.
FDC also proposed that Political parties are granted power to withdraw a candidate from the race even after that candidate has been nominated by the Electoral Commission adding that MPs need to refrain from using government programs to solicit for votes.
