Police in Ntinda have once again arrested Nalongo Anette Namata largely known by her nickname Nana Mwafrika Mbarikiwa.
The arrest was brutally conducted by two police officers attached to the traffic department. They however called in for reinforcement from the Ntinda police station which responded with dozens of anti riot police officers to man the arrest. Traffic was held at a halt as officers struggled to wrap up the celebrated feminist in her scarf incorporated with nationalistic inscriptions and a Uganda flag symbol.
Current reports indicate that Nana is being held in custody at Kira however a person claiming to be her helper is using her online platforms to say she is in a hospital but needs help. What is worrying Nana’s friends is the fact that the so called helper has refused to identify him/herself and this has left them imagining it could be the police itself acting behind the props to tame and trap her colleagues.
Her seven months old baby is also missing after the split at the time of arrest however police has confirmed that they have the toddler in their custody and that it will be added to the mother’s charge sheet related to charges violating the Public order management act, 2013.
