Police in Ntoroko District are investigating the Tuesday killing of Ntoroko District National Resistance Movement chairman.
Vincent Mugume was hacked to death at Kandito in Tooro Semliki Game Reserve while riding on a hired Boda Boda bike on his way to Kanara Town Council.
The assailants dumped the Chairman’s body in the bush about ten meters from Karugutu-Kanara road.
According to the Ntoroko District Police Commander, Mr. David Katunda said they had detained two suspects at Fort Portal Central Police Station as investigations into the murder continue.
Mr. Katunda said preliminary investigations into the killing point to land wrangles among family members.
The Kanara Town Council chairman, Mr. David Kor said Mugume was also the district councilor for Kanara town council adding that it’s not the first travelers are attacked in Tooro Semliki Game Reserve.
Mugume was a businessman in Kanara and Karugutu town councils and a dedicated NRM Supporter.
