A police constable identified as Beatrice Akello and a businesswoman in Kitgum District have been remanded to prison over the illegal sale and possession of bullets.
SPC Beatrice Akello attached to Kitgum Matidi Police Post and her accomplice Irene Aciro, are residents of Lajang village in Pajimo parish in Labongo Akwang Sub County were arrested two weeks ago and have been in detention at Kitgum Central Police Station.
Another police officer James Canrac attached to Kitgum Bus Park Police Post who had been arrested in connection with the same, was released after he was delinked from the transaction.
The suspects who appeared before Kitgum Grade One Magistrate John Paul Obuya on Monday denied the charges of being in possession and the illegal sale of three Ak47 assault rifle bullets but were remanded to Kitgum Government Prison until December 18 when they will return for further hearing of their case.
The Same Court also remanded Mr. Samuel Opoka over the murder of his two year old daughter who he is believed to have slammed her several times on the house wall until she died.
