Jamaican dancehall artiste, Clifford Smith aka Mr. Vegas has said that Bobi Wine is the only hope for Uganda to witness a regime change, further endorsing him for the presidency.
In a live video on his official facebook handle, Mr. Vegas endorsed Bobi Wine for Presidency against Mr. Museveni saying that Bobi is Uganda’s savior, he also laid out the reasons why he believes that now is the time when Uganda experiences change and that the nation has been blessed with the most appropriate candidate whom he endorses.
According to Mr. Vegas, the hope for Uganda is through Bobi Wine because he symbolizes the change that the world is waiting to see.
“We the younger generation must create a better world for ourselves and the generation to come. We cannot keep doing business the same way with corrupt leaders around the world. We cannot be doing things the same way and expect a different result. I think Bobi Wine loves you more than himself because no one will put themselves in danger for something they do not believe or love more than themselves,” Mr. Vegas argued.
Vegas noted that Bobi Wine is sincere and he has seen it in his eyes, adding that he is a representation of the Younger generation that deserves better from its government.
I want all my Ugandan brothers and sisters to know that I endorse Bobi Wine for the next president of Uganda.
Speaking about the endorsement, Bobi Wine said he was humbled by his fellow singer’s endorsement and concern for the governance of Africa.
“I am very humbled especially that this is coming from a brother that I respect so much. Blessed love my brother SUUBI aka Mr. Vegas. It is very encouraging to see our brothers and sisters in the diaspora giving attention to the governance of their motherland. One goal, one mission, one Africa. Africa is us and we are Africa. Like the great Fela Kuti said, “In times of oppression, music is supposed to be for revolution.”
Early this year, Mr. Vegas publicly promised that he would come to Uganda and mobilize support for Bobi Wine in case he was ready to stand for Presidency. His tweet read as follows “I will come and campaign for you when you are ready bro! Africa Stand Up! This is the future! I met this man!”
Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine is currently in South Africa where he will be attending the Africa Freedom Awards as a nominee and also meet with Ugandans and People Power Supporters living in South Africa on Saturday.
