Police in Kampala has arrested Makerere University graduates for staging an illegal peaceful protest on unemployment.

The recently conferred graduates who were smartly dressed in their graduation gowns positioned themselves along all Kampala’s busy junctions and roundabouts with Placards asking “What’s Next”.

“What next” is currently trending on social media with Ugandans across the world expressing solidarity with the jobless graduates however some Social media users who denounced the move asked the group to stop seeking importance and look for jobs quietly.

According to them, there is no justification for protests when they just graduated last month and haven’t tested the actual feel of being unemployed.

Every Year Millions of Youth graduate from Universities and tertiary institutions and this year over 13,000 graduated from  Makerere with different fields of specialization yet Public Service can only offer 480,000 jobs.

The protest did not last long before Police Officers were alerted to come and pick the smartly dressed graduates off the streets before whisking them away to an unknown destination.
