The Isimba Dam Project Manager has revealed that over 28 engineers that had been contracted to work on the bridge connecting Kayunga to Kamuli are trapped in China following the Coronavirus outbreak.
Appearing before the Physical Infrastructure Committee over the Shs. 24bn, Nenghai said that 28 Engineers were trapped in China which is a very serious issue since they are currently working with fewer workers and no money adding that the contract needs to be revisited.
He also told Parliament that the contractor had agreed to construct the bridge at no extra cost but blamed that delay on the technical and security issues adding that the Contractor will deliver the bridge by end of 2020.
This development comes at a time when over 60,000 people have been confirmed coronavirus victims and 1355 recorded deaths as a result of the coronavirus.
