The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga was today morning summoned to State House for a briefing hours ahead of the First Lady’s appearance before Parliament.
The First Lady Janet Kataha Museveni, who also doubles as the minister of Education and Sports will be appearing before Parliament to explain issues regarding the implementation of the new lower secondary school curriculum.
On Tuesday after Janet’s failure to appear before Parliament, Kadaga warned that the first lady could face parliament’s committee on Rules, Discipline, and Privileges if she does not appear today, February 20.
Kadaga’ Press secretary Sam Obbo confirmed the abrupt meeting between President Museveni and his Boss but declined to give any more details.
There is anticipation that Kadaga is going to be talked into calming down on issues of the new curriculum and insisting that the First Lady appears before Parliament.
In other news, Kadaga also blocked a loan worth $119m intended to upgrade three oil roads arguing that funding for the Kampala Jinja expressway needs to be resolved first.
