• Assumpta Nambasa, a midwife attached to Kamulegu Health Centre III was remanded on Thursday by Masaka Grade one Magistrate Arthur Ziraba.

The Masaka Grade One Magistrates Court has remanded a Midwife over alleged theft of government drugs.

Assumpta Nambasa, a midwife attached to Kamulegu Health Centre III was remanded on Thursday by Masaka Grade one Magistrate Arthur Ziraba.

Court heard that the suspect was found in possession of Malaria drugs and blood rapid tests kits, a stock of Intravenous fluids, mama kits and gloves among others supplies inside her house all valued at about 3 million shillings.

She denied the offences and was remanded to Masaka government prisons up to 18th March.

Herman Ssentongo the Masaka Resident District Commissioner says that they have gathered sufficient evidence against the suspect which will be presented in court.
