As the world look for the means to curb Coronavirus, Ugandan artists, Bebe Cool and Bobi wine reportedly recorded different tunes meant to sensitise the public on how to reduce the spread of the disease.
It is noticed that singer turned politician Bobi Wine came up with something tuneful than his colleague Bebe Cool where most of his fans seem to be excited about the project.
Bobi Wine and Nubian Li “Coronavirus Alert” expound more on the signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and how to avoid it. Speaking about the signs, Bobi Wine frequently used a Runyankole word, “Okwetsyamula” to caution the people about sneezing in public during these times.
The video of the song was shot inside a recording studio with just three people, following the guidelines against converging in gatherings of more than 10 people.
However, Bebe Cool together with other artists including A Pass, Fresh Kid, John Blaq, Vinka and Azawie also hit the studio and recorded a joint song about the virus but mostly full of Luganda words.
According to NRM leaning musician Bebe Cool, “Bobi wine’s song is already having international recognition and our local media is still playing a song that has gone viral instead of playing my songs with various artists” he stressed. He accused the local media for not promoting his song with various artists.
“I think our media is a little bit biased about the issue. Bobi wine’s song is already having international recognition and our local media is still playing a song that has gone viral instead of playing my songs with various artists. we collected various artists with special talents. why don’t you give these guys a chance? To be honest Bobi Wine’s song is fair but lacks the message that is needed”. Bebe Cool said in an exclusive interview.
