Released barely a week back, the Bobi Wine tune is spreading faster than the virus itself. The song is titled, ‘Corona Virus Alert’ and is lauded for its lyrical maturity and appealing punchlines. As the virus continued to ravage the world with over 180 counties confirming cases, a concerned Bobi Wine collaborated his fellow vocalist, Nubian Li and the duo hit the studio. Their tune has since been recommended to be the background official song for the health awareness campaign against the pandemic. The World Health Organisation rated the song as a great health banger. Upon its release, Bobi wrote, “As we unite to confront the Corona Virus pandemic, we decided to send this message through music and we hope it will encourage the many efforts to sensitise our people. May this edutainment brighten up your quarantine and please share so that the message reaches far and wide.”
Bobi’s prayers have indeed yielded. The song is spreading all through European cities and across Africa to the States. In Netherlands, the tune is already trending on the billboard hot 20 chats.
