People power spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi has on Sunday, March 29, started a support initiative to disadvantaged families in Nakawa Division, who have been affected by the lockdown aimed to curb the spread of COVID-19.
It is noticed that the shutdown has affected thousands of people who can’t go to work and earn a livelihoood.
“Together with friends, we delivered some food to vulnerable people in some parts of Nakawa Division, door to door to avoid crowds. The need is huge, yet means are limited! Let’s all do what we can wherever we are in whichever part of the country to help the needy in this #COVID19 season,” he said.
The move has set the bar very high for other leaders on matters of fighting COVID-19 after people power’s Joel Ssenyonyi launched an ambitious project to feed the vulnerable people of Nakawa Division, Kampala.
According to the ministry of health, 3 new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed today, raising the total number to 33 in the country.
