The Kabaka of Buganda Kingdom Ronald Muwenda Mutebi has donated shs.100m to the Coronavirus national task force to help in the fight against the virus in the country. This was revealed in a press conference held today’s morning by officials from the Kingdom at Office of the Prime Minister, OPM in Kampala.

The cheque was handed over by Prince David Wasajja to the COVID-19 Response Team headed by Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda. The officials said they were sent by Owek. Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi.

The Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda said the account will be opened in Stanbic Bank for private companies and individuals who may want to make donations, to send through money.

“I want to thank all the people in and out of Uganda who have contributed to this. It is this collective effort that will help us succeed” Rugunda stressed.

The donation will be used to purchase food relief items that will be distributed to the vulnerable people during the lockdown.
