The Holy See has come up to express his commiseration towards the people suffering with the coronavirus pandemic in Italy.
The pope donated 60,000 euros as a sign of his closeness to the Italian city of Lombardy where the coronavirus pandemic hit most, leaving tens of thousands dead.
In the recent weeks, Italy has been registering overwhelming death counts which put the world on a stand still. Thousands of people could not get to hospitals after they were filled prompting the provision of tents.
As of Tuesday 7th April, a better future is slowly continuing to linger as Italy continuously sees a steady downward trend with 604 death.
The Pope has been involved in many special prayers to the people of Italy since the coronavirus outbreak in the country. Images of him staring at the empty St. Peter’s square moved around the Catholic communities as the world prayed for Italy.
On 27th March, the pope cast a special Urbi eg Orbi blessing to the people of Italy, giving them more hope in the fight against the 2020 global pandemic.
