Honourable Moses Kuria, the Member of Parliament for Gatundu South of Kenya has ordered all Chinese nationals to evacuate their country with immediate effect.
“It is only fair that all Chinese nationals leave the country with immediate effect. How do you blame Africans for a virus you manufactured in a Wuhan laboratory? Go back home. Hata madeni hatutalipa,” he wrote.
Kuria’s sentiments were echoed by Narok Senator Ledama OleKina who said Africans are not children of a lesser God.
This comes after several Africans living in China are facing racial sentiments. Videos circulating on social media show some Africans spending cold nights on Chinese streets. These, according to claims, have been forcefully evicted from their houses for fear that they may spread coronavirus to the Chinese.
A developing situation in China shows that there are racial attacks on foreigners especially from Africa whom the nationals claim that they are carrying the coronavirus. According to sources within Guangzhou city, Africans are being segregated to an extent that when an African enters any public bus, all the Chinese will walk out. No one is being allowed to buy anything from shops and groceries except via online services.
African countries have not yet given hope to the stranded people however much a lot of cries have been recorded. It is in most recent times that the Nigerian ambassador confronted the Chinese police on a a ebook video, trying to find out the reason for their harassment.
