Coronavirus has prompted the closure of all shops and public centres with betting company being no exceptional to the directive throughout the lockdown period. Many youths in Tororo district have resorted to other forms of gambling like cards, ludoo rather than staying home during the lockdown as guided by the president Museveni.

Some claim that they have no other means of survival since they have no other source of income. But security heads insist that the law will catch up with it if they continue to defy the executive orders.

It is no secret that gambling is a vice that has taken up this country like a storm in the recent years. With  no segegregation on gender, age or level of income. gambling is highly addictive and a contagious habit that should be disdained.

Undoubtly the hardest hit age group is the youth due to a lack of proper employment  and a daily routine to properly manage their time, they are often idle and very susceptible to the vice.
