The speaker of parliament, Rebecca Kadaga has issued sternly warning to members of parliament talking and defending the 10 billion shillings from the supplementary budget of parliament on which 20 million shillings will be for each Member of Parliament to assist in fight against covid-19.
Kadaga says it will be only her or the parliamentary commission to speak about how this money will be utilized.
The speaker’s intervention on this matter came as the public is bitter over part of COVID -19 disease funds was allocated to members of parliament.
“I want to appeal to MPs, the issue of Shs10b is an issue of the Parliament Commission. Don’t continue talking about it because you don’t know about it. It’s not your business, just go on with your lives.” The speaker said.
Kadaga was quoted yesterday while on NTV station saying the money that will be given to members of parliament will be for funding the buying of fuel to the ambulances they handed over to ministry of health and pay the
drivers as well.
