Tanzania will send a plane to Madagascar to airlift herbal COVID-19 vaccine which has been touted as a cure for coronavirus by the country’s president. This was confirmed by President John Pome Magufuli who said on Sunday May 3, 2020, that he was in talks with the Madagascan government to see how the vaccine can be availed to Tanzania.

“I have been in talks with Madagascar. They say they have discovered the medicine for Coronavirus. We will send a plane to bring the medicine to Tanzania so that Tanzanians can benefit from it,” President Magufuli said.

He also revealed that his government was working around the clock to defeat the novel coronavirus scourge. Madagascar President Andry Rajoelina launched the herbal tea, named COVID-Organics (CVO), on Monday, April 20, claiming the concoction cured COVID-19 patients.

“This herbal tea gives results in seven days,” Rajoelina announced at its official launch on Tuesday. “We can change the history of the entire world,” he said, after downing a dose”. he added.

Through a post on his Instagram page on Friday May 1, Rajoelina said the herbal medicine would be availed to all coronavirus patients in all friendly countries across the African continent and around the world. As of Saturday, May 2, Madagascar had registered 135 infections of the pandemic with zero deaths. Out of the total cases, 97 of them had recovered according to Worldometers, a real-time statistics website.

Meanwhile the United States on the other hand has aproved the use of Remdesivir drug saying a study showed it interfered with the replication of some viruses, including the SARS-CoV-2 virus responsible for the current pandemic.
