Uganda’s longest ruling tyrant, Yoweri Museveni has through his communication channels confirmed a last minute cancellation of the badly awaited address on the lockdown.
The address which was slated for Monday night at 20:00 hours EAT was to be the determinant of the cabinet position on the 21 day lockdown which is supposed to expire tomorrow, 19 May.
Privy sources say Museveni wants to bow out of the lockdown and vent lose to the people demanding to return to their workplaces. The same source says Museveni is tired of feeding the masses as he stresses it is a very expensive venture for his government.
“The food demand is increasing and masses want each individual to be covered. Museveni says his government is incapable of feeding every starving Ugandan,” the source tells this site. Museveni is also said to be losing it on the private first family investments which have suffered heavily with the extension of the unending lockdown. The first family enterprises which cover malls, arcade, real estate properties among others are reportedly not doing well as all potential clients are locked up in their homes.
With all that pressure piling on the old man, he may be compelled to partially open the economy so the first family empire can flourish through the COVID-19 crisis. Museveni’s left worry is also with the NRM manifesto week where he intends to show the public some of the so called 70% achievements.
