The Kyadondo East member of parliament, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu has today handed over relief items worth millions to the Kasese woman MP, Winnie Kiiza
Bobi Wine’s affection for charity to the Rwenzori people has never withered. In the year 2013 when the River Nyamwamba banks burst and forced homesteads into devastation, the then musician, Bobi Wine arranged a charity concert dubbed “Akalimu clean and out concert” in which he raised millions of shillings and relief items to assist the stranded families.
That charity spirit has since stayed in Bobi Wine even to-date. Speaking from the People Power headquarters in a press conference convened today, Bobi Wine commended all the Ugandans that responded positively and contributed relief items to the Kasese families which have been swept away from their homesteads by the ravaging floods. The People Power principal says a helping hand at such days of the pandemic exhibits the spirit of ubuntu and togetherness.
The People Power womens league leader, Flavia Kalule Nabagabe added an assortment of sanitary pads to assist the stranded girl child and women at large. “We are not able to deliver the items in person because no private trucks are allowed to move yet. We believe, you are the right person to deliver this to our people,” said Flavia Kalule as she handed over the relief items to Winnie Kiiza.
By publication of this story, Museveni had panickingly boarded a chopper to Kasese to make assessments of the damage, weeks since the tragedy ensued.
