The Katikkiro of Buganda Kingdom, Chales Peter Mayiga has today launched the Kingdom’s COVID-19 facemask. The mask shall be available at only two thousand Ugandan shillings. With such a fabric, It is the best deal on the market compared to others of the same material.
This follows Museveni’s directive to the general public that everyone must always wear masks when they are out of their homes, saying that this would combat the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and its infection to other people.
“People seem not to understand the value of the masks; these are not a decoration! We don’t want you to be seen with the mask hanging around your neck. Put the mask over your mouth and nose all the time as long as you are in public. Even when you are speaking, leave the mask on because if you remove and speak, you are infecting the air and also the hands you are fidgeting with while removing the mask can bring the infection,” He said.
Mayiga also urged public to abide by the government’s directives to safeguard themselves from contracting the virus. In the same line of masks, The Joint Security team has said they will start forcing people to wear facemasks as a way of fighting Coronavirus.
“We are looking forward to implementing wearing of the right mask being aware that there is no vaccine yet.” he said adding that “Its for each ones safety, is something one can can use to prevent the spread of the pandemic.
