The speaker of parliament, Rebecca Kadaga has summoned ministry of health officials to explain the Standard Operation Procedures for the people in Gulu district that have been placed under total lockdown.
This is after Lamwo district Woman Member of Parliament Lilly Adong raised concern that the people in Gulu district had been placed under total lockdown despite it not being a border town.
President Museveni while addressing the nation on Monday said Gulu District is the high risk area because of the five community cases recorded there.
However, the MP wonders why Gulu is put under total lock down yet majority of the Covid-19 cases registered at the district hospital are from the districts Kitgum, Lamwo and Adjuman which remain open.
She says Gulu is a gate for Acholi sub region and so restricting movement has left many people stuck with food and other essential items.
