As members of the ruling NRM party continue to scratch heads over how they are to contain the generational opponent, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, more remarkable moments are continuing to surface at the NUP/PP station in Kamwokya.

Today has been a day that even the principal himself has acknowledged to be one of his best since he embarked on the journey to liberate this country from the grip of dictator Yoweri Museveni. The day was flooded with several artistes thronging the NUP party offices to register as members of the generational vehicle that is giving Museveni and his henchmen sleepless nights. In his remarks to the new recruits, Bobi preached the use of the artistry to preach and embrace change. Bobi reminded artistes of the liberation role they can play. For so long, musicians and artistes have not actively engaged in politics. Rarely, if they would be indulged in the politics, they would only sing for the politicians. But now with the rise of Bobi Wine, the story has totally changed and now the artistes are influencing governance and politics. In a moody publication, Bobi narrates;

Today was one of the best days of my life. There is nothing as fulfilling for me as a leader as seeing very talented people embrace our message to personally get involved in the affairs of our country. Previously, we artistes were looked at as unserious people who had no idea what was going on, or who were simply supposed to be used to push other people’s agendas.

But today at our headquarters, seeing 84 artistes, entertainers and other media personalities join the National Unity Platform was an absolute honor. I am sure the dictatorship feels the heat – because they understand the power of art in driving a people’s revolution!

There is nothing that will be out of our reach because we are a united generation.

I am also very happy to receive many other leaders at all levels who are joining the Platform. Let’s do this
