A well placed source in the Mirundi Internal Security Organization (MISO) has forecast doom for Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform party. Declining to be placed on record in fear of reprisals as most communications are made by the proprietor, Tamale Mirundi himself, the source reveals that everything Andrew Mwenda is doing is well laid on a calculated script aimed at dismantling what Bobi had already firmly built.
“The NUP secretariat made a mistake to admit Mwenda into their structures. They know how controversial he is,” says the MISO source. “Just wait and see. In a week, Mwenda will test positive for COVID-19 and NUP/PP offices will be indefinitely closed and Bobi quarantined. Where will he get the campaign time while in quarantine?,” the source warns. The story is likely to end in endless legal suits and battles, and yet the main battle should be on Museveni, the source further warns.
Reacting to Mwenda’s entry into the NUP/PP, Kawempe North legislator, Hon. Latif Ssebaggala urged him to follow the rightful protocols. Hon. Latif uses a Koranic allusion to give a lively example. He says, “Mr.Andrew Mwenda you are most welcome to NUP we hope your intentions are pure and no ill motives. But keep in mind that,(let me use this scenario as an example) “You can’t convert to Islam and for some reason you immediately ask to become an Imaam.” Oyina Okusooka okuyiga okufuna wudhu etc!,” reads part of the post. “So if you want to contest for presidency of NUP, there is a criteria to it! in addition to that, you ought to understand our culture, principles and core values as NUP,” post further reads.
Other People Power followers have trashed Mwenda’s request for a duel with the principal saying it is harbouring invisible motives. “Mwenda seems to have been planted with a motive to try and mock Bobi Wine’s NUP/PP. He has been a critique of the opposition members whom he brands as hooligans and intolerant people and now he comes to purport to be an opposition member,” writes Ssebiraalo Alex, a Bobi Wine supporter. “Everything he is doing has a purpose but good enough, we are sober,” he adds.
