“Thank you members for warmly welcoming me”, said Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleone who hopes to become Kampala Lord Mayor in the 2021 elections. He was welcomed to National Unity Platform (NUP) by it’s leader Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.

“Allow me to welcome my colleague, buddy and brother Dr Jose Chameleone,” Bobi Wine said.

The Leone Island singer joins NUP months after joining Democratic Party (DP). He was among the multitude of MPs who crossed from Democratic Party (DP) to National Unity Platform (NUP).

These include; Hon Betty Nambooze (Mukono Municipality MP), Allan Ssewanyana (Makindye West), Moses Kasibante (Rubaga North), and Medard Sseggona (Busiro East). Others are; Mathias Mpuuga, Joseph Ssewungu, Muwanga Kivumbi, Ssempala Kigozi, Ssentongo Robinah, Veronica Namaganda DP and Florence Namayanja.

National Unity Platform Secretariat also declared today August 13 2020, as their heroes day in remembrance of fallen comrades.

I congratulate Hon. Kyagulanyi and all freedom fighters for staying and even growing stronger. As I joined the many oppressed  Ugandans in the struggle to liberate ourselves and our country I also celebrate my alliance with the National Unity Platform with all comrades in the joint force to redeem our democracy and our freedom come 2021.
