Presidential Candidate Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi attended a court case in which he accuses the DPC, RPC, OC, RDC and the IGP for unlawfully denying him access to the BCU FM radio station earlier this month. On his way back to Kampala, Bobi says security operatives cut his entourage off forcing them to take a deserted route.
Honourable Kyagulanyi says they were eventually waylaid by the police during which time a police officer ASP Asimwe Abraham sprayed pepper spray into his eyes as he cursed him. In one of the clips on social media, the police can be seen clearing the roadblock after a gathering of media personnel and camera wielding individuals showed up. After getting clearance from the unknown ‘above’ the honourable’s car is seen driving off on a flattened tyre.

It is reported that the tyre had been directly hit by a tear gas can. The honorable further reiterates that they had been chased with gunshots and tear gas spraying indiscriminately. The honourable says he was not given a reason as to why they had been aggressively pursued and that the outcome could have been different if the cameras had not come out.
The honourable is thankful for the power of the media and cameras because they are a hinderance to the current rampant unlawful acts commited by some security officials.
Inspite of all the challenges, the honourable thanked the people of Mbale and Jinja for their support. He said “I thank the people who stood by the roadsides waited to wave to us all the way from Mbale to Jinja, thank you for the love.”
