President Museveni has this evening yet again bitterly warned the Mityana municipality legislator, Zaake Francis Butebi over allegedly spreading ‘false’ information about the presence of COVID-19 in Uganda. An infuriated Museveni issued this warning while addressing the NRM delegates following the conclusion of the Central Executive Committee elections.

Museveni who appeared visibly stressed and bitter also cautioned social media users against spreading information about the Kabaka of Buganda, His Highness Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II who has for the past weeks been a subject of discussion since the emergence of reports that he had reportedly been poisoned. “We have to take drastic measures against idiots. We aren’t going to lose people because of idiots, the greedy ones,” Museveni warned. “I was surprised that people were saying on social media that someone had poisoned Kabaka Mutebi, then later they said he had died. How can people behave like that? If anything goes wrong with the Highness, the people to announce are there. Those people, we shall go for them. I hope the police has gotten them. They have to explain their irresponsible behavior,” he warned.

An emotional Museveni further warned the Mityana MP, Zaake Francis Butebi to desist from spreading ‘misleading’ comments on COVID-19 or as cabinet, they are to resolve and come for him again. “Some people have been joking with this problem of Coronavirus. You are now going to see real problems. Don’t say we didn’t tell you,” he fussed.

“Kampala people who are big-headed, they listen to those who tell them lies. They are now leading with cases. I will address the nation next week. Some idiots go on saying there is no Coronavirus. I hear there is a one Zaake who goes on saying there is no Coronavirus. We will discuss these enemies of the people in the task force meeting,” he added.

It should be noted that at the infancy stage of covid in Uganda, MP Zaake was the first regime target when he was picked in Mityana where he was giving out food to the starving people. The MP was tortured and detained in guise of flouting covid guidelines till court dropped the charges pressed on him. The unrelentful Zaake today even ironically disregarded a health Ministry report that a covid death has been registered in Mityana.
