Reliable sources have intimated to this site that Museveni’s espionage wing dubbed the Internal Security Organization (ISO) has deployed about 200 plain clothed officers to camp at the National Unity Platform party secretariat. The deployed operatives are to execute a string of missions in their capacity as ‘candidates’ for the NUP at different elective positions.
The spies are to keep attending the NUP weekly press conferences and identify the regular attendants who are to be trailed to their home places. A reliable high profile source in the security circles told this reporter that the regime is to effective this month of September embark on manipulating Bobi Wine supporters with either threats or sacks of money. “Our spies will take photos of regular attendants, take note of what they say about the struggle while they are at NUP and try to reach out to them for talks,” our ISO source says. “Those who will be offered cash and they reject are to be asked to either quit the struggle or risk being kept in safe houses,” he adds.
The regime has also hatched a malicious plot in which they are to depict the NUP as a militia outfit that should hence be outlawed. On Monday, reports from the Northern Uganda indicated that ISO operatives had bribed some NUP coordinators to eject them out of the struggle and force them to confess against Bobi Wine and implicate him in seditious activities. A one Tony Opira Ogoma who coordinates for the NUP in the north, Bavure Muzafar and Lakech Moses led the negotiations with the ISO goons who bribed them to propagate lies against NUP.
We however managed to reach out to the NUP bigwigs who contend that they are aware of all these allegations. “We know whatever is ongoing. The regime is in panic and all this is a replica of what the they did to Dr. Besigye when he announced to run in 2001,” a top NUP official said. “We are now spotting for the implants in our movement and we shall sideline them as soon as we know about their double deeds,” he adds.
