A distressed Nsubuga who just lost the NRM party primaries to a one Muhumuza is heard in the audio threatening to spill blood. “Ssonko, I’m called Simeo Nsubuga!,” he says in the leaked phone conversation. “I am receiving reports that you are calling my agents and coordinators enticing them to join the Muhumuza camp. But I want to remind you that you are a father with children to take care of,” he warns.

The former senior police officer adds that he will be compelled to emulate labour minister, Rukutana if Ssonko does not back off his camp. “I want to assure you that I will look for you myself. I wont delegate anyone to kill you on my behalf. If you want to stay alive and take care of your children, back off the name Simeo Nsubuga,” he warns. “I have openly told you. We are in politics of life and death, so stand warned,” he adds before the conversation breaks.

The age limit proponent lost the NRM primaries to Michael Muhumuza who polled 11,173 votes against his 11,111 of the total votes. Reports from Kassanda indicate that Simeo has since decline to concede and vowed to proceed as an independent candidate. “I feel, and I am sure my victory was robbed. I followed the exercise everywhere and it was not free and fair. Many people were involved in malpractices and so I cannot accept the results. I will therefore, stand as an independent,” Nsubuga told the media in the primaries aftermath.
