On Wednesday morning, the world watched in awe as the NRM militant regime deployed hordes of police, military, UPDF, SFC, CMI, ISO and plain clothed CID personnel to wreck havoc on the Kamwokya based National Unity Platform party headquarters. Our investigations have led us to circumstances under which the raid was planned. Reliable sources implicate two NUP members who tipped security and informed them of what ensues at the headquarters. Just last week, an infuriated commander in chief, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni relieved the ISO boss of his duties after failing to retrieve some vital information on the activities within Kamwokya. The president’s worry was that his major opponent, Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert is over confident in unseating him by ballot and yet several opposition candidates including FDC’s Dr. Kizza Besigye have tried four times and failed. Sources say Museveni believes Bobi Wine has an invisible hand in his candidature and that his source of confidence could be more than just a ballot.

Two weeks ago, one of the NUP security members commonly known as Bobi Young was arrested for possession of military stores and kept in Kireka at the Special Investigations Unit headquarters. Days before his arrest, Bobi Young appeared in a live video with army ranks on his overall shoulders and a greenish military beret. We have since reliably learnt that it is Bobi Young who shared all the information with the CID at the time they grilled him to explain the syndicate of how the NUP supporters get the said military stores. While in detention, Bobi Young told the CID that the red berets and overalls are domestically manufactured by tailors in Kiyembe lane, Nakasero. This explains why the police stormed this place while executing their raid on NUP at the same time. A source in the CID says Bobi Young was warned in advance not to ever don in military ware. If we clearly recall, Young did not appear on Wednesday when the police stormed Kamwokya because he already knew what was going to happen.

Kawempe South NUP leaning independent MP candidate, Dr. Roy Ssemboga has also been named in the NUP fracas. It is said that after being denied the NUP flag, Dr. Ssemboga shared classified information with his colleagues in the ISO. He explained where the party keeps its classified documents including nomination details of candidates and the badly needed signatures endorsing Hon. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu’s presidential bid. It is for that reason that even at the time of the raid, security laid much emphasis on Kyagulanyi’s office because they had been tipped on what is kept inside there.

On the eve of the raid, the DIGP, Sabiiti Mzee held a meeting with all the Kampala Metropolitan Police commanders and directed them not to spare any NUP supporter found in a red beret. Even during the post-raid presser, police spokesperson Fred Enanga and the Deputy UPDF mouthpiece, Deo Akiiki reiterated that the dozens of captured NUP supporters are to be court martialed either today or Friday.
