We have replicated some of the deceased Col. Shaban Bantariza’s remarks. His latest most outstanding was when he spent most of the final moments of his life protesting the political growth of Kyadondo East legislator Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert alias Bobi Wine. On one of the functions held on January, 5 this year at Nakivubo blue primary school in Kampala, the late Col. Bantariza strongly cautioned presidential hopeful Bobi Wine and his supporters. “Wacha! Now, we are having these People Power children who don’t know where we came from!,” Bantariza said. “We shall use fire to dilute Bobi’s Ka Sukaali. I have three guns in my car if Bobi Wine continues with his Ka sukaali. For us we use fire, not Ka Sukaali. The NRM is here to stay and it’s not going anywhere,” he added.

Bantariza also said that as the army, they do not on any day imagine themselves saluting Bobi Wine if he assumes the top seat. “We would rather go back to the Bush and fight than allow Bobi Wine to be president,” he said.

By the time of his death, Col. Shaban Bantariza had served in several government top positions. He was formerly the deputy director of the Uganda Media Centre, a position he strategically used to attack opposition politicians. He has also been the Deputy government spokesperson by the time of his death. He has been on record for antagonizing opposition efforts to reclaim this country.
