With just a few days left for the National Unity Platform party presidential nominee Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert alias Bobi Wine to be nominated for the presidential contest on November, 3, Ugandans are already warming up for the campaign of their generational leader.
On Thursday, Kyagulanyi received at least 30,000 high quality posters from the diaspora community based in the Middle East country of Abu Dhabi.
The diaspora was overly concerned about the growing tendencies of defacing, confiscating and tearing of Kyagulanyi’s street posters by both members of security (police) and a handful of NRM supporters. Lately, police has been seen vandalizing posters of Kyagulanyi shamelessly in broad daylight and in public view.
Kyagulanyi who received the posters broke the silence in a post he issued on Facebook on Thursday as he lauded the people for being sacrificial and supportive to his presidential bid which is of significance to Uganda’s history as a country. Kyagulanyi is on record as the first musician to register a political breakthrough having began as a legislator three years ago in 2017 and now shooting high for the top presidential seat. If put right, Bobi Wine is the first Ugandan musician to vie for presidency. Below is Kyagulanyi’s appreciation note after receiving the posters;
Just recieved recieved 30000 posters from the People Power/NUP Abudhabi community.
Thank you comrades for the selfless contribution. We continue to request all the change seeking Ugandans where ever you are to help us push the gospel of a #NewUganda.
