Police says in wake of the covid pandemic, the residents of this entire neighbourhood will not be allowed to leave their homes in daytime for at least two days.

Individuals have also been barred from appearing close to the nomination venue and anyone who gets inches closer risks arrest and prosecution before the courts of law, warned the Kampala traffic boss, Norman Musinga in today’s presser.

Musinga also adds that the Kampala-Jinja highway is to be diverted and half of it will be inaccessible to all motorists for the two days that the EC will conduct nominations. “Motorists will be diverted at Spear Motors, Banda and Kireka trading centres, Kigobe road at National Council of Higher Learning and Jokas Hotel,” Musinga said.

Candidates especially those in the opposition have been asked to refrain from mobilize for processions as they head to the venue. Police today said they will be forced to use repressive measures to avert processions. “We have received reports that Bobi Wine and his team are mobilizing motorists but we are also ready for them. Let them come and see,” Enanga said in a Friday presser at the Uganda Media Centre.
