Presidential candidate Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert of the NUP has excited thousands of his supporters in Mbarara city where he is launching his 2021 campaign manifesto.
The masses have defied security orders that had restrained the gathering to strictly 70 people. Bobi Wine supporters opted to break past the security barricades to get to the Kakyeka stadium venue to take part of the gathering in which their endeared candidate will unveil his manifesto.
The NUP leadership is also present. Police is trying to disperse the unmoved crowds with the people vowing to die for change. Although teargas is being fired and rubber bullets, Mbarara residents have remained hesitant and unmoved. They’ve kept within the stadium premises braving the plumes of itchy teargas. Police is visibly overwhelmed but the RDC is asking them to use all excessive measures possible to disperse the mammoth crowds. Our reporter is on ground extracting more details of the pandemonium.
