Bobi Wine made this revelation on Monday while addressing a rally at St. Leo’s College Kyegobe in Fort Portal. The NUP leader says right from when he unleashed his hid to challenge Museveni, he has had the backing of the former opposition pillar, Besigye.

“One of my inspirational figures, Dr. Besigye, on Sunday told me I am on the right course in changing the status quo and asked me to continue in the spirit. I had called him to appreciate him for standing in solidarity with me when I was arrested,” Bobi told the gathering. The youthful aspirant further urged the opposition forces to unite if they are to capture power from the grip of the despotic ruler, Yoweri Museveni. “I call upon all our supporters in opposition to come together and we move forward. We are talking with other leaders to be one. I know you all support change to remove president Museveni,” he added.

The former opposition frontliner, Dr. Besigye has remained under tight watch by those who follow politics as they scratch their heads to see who he is to back in the 2021 polls. Besigye is expected to join the campaign trail of the FDC candidate, Eng. Patrick Amuriat Oboi who has pitched camp in Bunyoro. Sources however say Besigye is to make a big announcement before the voting date pops in and chances are high that he will rally behind Bobi Wine who stands a higher chance of unseating the incumbent president Museveni.
