Reports coming indicate that Canon Patrick Bwerere, the father of the renowned notorious police boss, RPC Frank Mwesigwa breathed his last on Monday night. The deceased has been battling a long time ailment although some family sources who spoke to this reporter reveal that he suffered a cardiac arrest after seeing the fatalities that emanated from his son’s unprofessionality and reckless conduct that left over 54 people dead during the two day Free Bobi Wine protests. “We were home watching news and Mzee heard that his son had caused the deaths of over 54 people when he arrested Bobi Wine in Luuka,” a family source said. “He collapsed in the evening and we rushed him to hospital and that’s where he has been till the Lord took him away from us. He died a very disappointed man. On his deathbed, he kept disowning his son, Frank Mwesigwa whom he accused of mass murders” the source further adds.

The deceased is likely to laid to rest today in his ancestral home district of Kiruhura.Canon Bwerere is a retired minister of Church of Uganda

Mwesigwa is well known police officer, now commanding Eastern Uganda. He has served in different portfolios including counter terrorism, Kampala metropolitan, Tourism Police among others. He currently hit the spotlight after recklessly arresting the NUP presidential candidate Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine in what would later culminate in a two day protest that left over 54 Ugandans killed and dozens critically injured. Mwesigwa remains lounging free despite being pinned in igniting the protests.
