Police and military have littered the streets of Kampala with immense deployment after the Electoral Commission revealed plans of meeting opposition presidential candidates of the National Unity Platform party and Forum for Democratic Change party. Both Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine (NUP) and Eng. Patrick Amuriat Oboi (FDC) are expected to arrive for the round table discussion with EC regarding their alleged persistent flouting of covid guidelines and the derailment from the scientific elections model.

Roads leading to Nakawa where the Electoral Commission headquarters is located are sealed off with barricades. Vehicles using Jinja road are being checked before being allowed to proceed. Military and police officers clutched on their weapons are the major scene of the morning. It remains uncertain as to whether Bobi Wine will turn up for this engagement after the NUP party spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi made it clear that he will be represented as he is still engaged with campaigns in the Karamoja subregion.
